This ensures <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/paynopain.com\/en\/glossary\/transaction\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">transactions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are properly authorized and funds are efficiently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/paynopain.com\/en\/glossary\/settlement\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">settled<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between all parties involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Main_functions_of_an_acquiring_bank\"><\/span><b>Main functions of an acquiring bank<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acting as an intermediary means the acquiring bank has a number of responsibilities:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Handle payment requests<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When a customer makes a purchase, the acquirer receives the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/paynopain.com\/en\/glossary\/transaction\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">transaction<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and sends it to the relevant payment network. The network then directs it to the issuing bank to verify authorization.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3.
