That\u2019s because here the majority of businesses that offer contactless payments are based on this technology for the simple reason of not knowing another one, such as <\/span><b>mobile payment using QR code<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is the most popular in Asian countries such as China.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Undoubtedly the two technologies have both advantages and disadvantages when it comes to facilitating mobile payments, but the important thing is to know their characteristics to choose the most appropriate method for each occasion. <\/span><b>The society and the economy <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of a country, and, even individual factors such as <\/span><b>the type of business and customer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will determine whether it\u2019s more convenient to opt for a <\/span><b>NFC or QR mobile payment system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mobile_payment_by_NFC\"><\/span><b>Mobile payment by NFC<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although not all of them, the majority of Western mobile phones already have <\/span><b>Near Field Communication technology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> integrated. This is not only found on smartphones or only used to pay, but also found and used in everyday events such as signing up at work or entering the subway. To pay we make use of it both with mobile phones and credit and debit cards when we approach them to the POS of the stores and make a contactless payment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main problem with <\/span><b>NFC technology is that it requires that both devices <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(transmitter and receiver) <\/span><b>have the necessary hardware integrated<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and this has a high cost. For this reason, not all mobile phones have it, neither is popular in all areas of the world. Thus, the <\/span><b>high cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and, consequently, the <\/span><b>difficulty of adoption<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the main drawbacks of this technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mobile_payment_by_QR\"><\/span><b>Mobile payment by QR<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand,<\/span><b> the mobile payment by QR code is in Asian countries, like China, the most used contactless payment system<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Unlike in the case of the NFC, the payment system by QR is <\/span><b>tremendously economical<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, since it only requires a printed code and a smartphone with a camera to read it.
